Panzerselbstfahrlafette la 5 cm PaK 38 Grue 3T crisp surfaces for exceptional resultsRheinmetall Borsig was awarded the contract for this project and chose to mount the 5 cm PaK 38 anti tank gun, a relatively powerful weapon for the time, on the chassis of an armoured ammunition tractor, the Borgward VK3. 02. This choice of chassis is interesting because the Borgward VK3. 02, originally designed as a supply vehicle, offered a mobile and lightweight base, but was not designed for direct combat.
