Early 20th Century Occupational Barbershop Shaving Mug antique bowl This wooden foundry mold servedDuring the late 19th and early 20th centuries when a gentleman needed a shave he would head to his local barbershop, where the barber would have each customers personal shaving mug. These mugs featured names inscribed in gold with images of the customers profession decorating the porcelain. This porcelain mug belonged to a butcher, his name is inscribed in gold above an image of a steer surrounded by meat processing tools. JM 092922 105114
