We found Gossypium thurberi growing with cactus and agaves just north of Tucson
In seasons with especially long growing seasons it can be cut to the ground in late summer if it becomes untidy
The stunning 20" tall x 3' wide clumps are topped in May with short spikes of pure white flowers
another DYC (damn yellow composite)
Liriope vernalis Lavender Springs Dicentra composed of 30" long(aka: Liriope sp. Nov CPC 5. 5. 01. 3) Liriope vernalis is a new clumping liriope species that we've named from a Darrell Probst discovery in Sichuan, China. Liriope vernalis forms a small 10" tall x 20" wide, non spreading evergreen clump of 1 4" wide green, arching leaves. Unlike all previously known liriope species which flower in summer, Liriope vernalis 'Lavender Springs' starts flowering for us in mid May, with 1' tall spikes of small lavender
