Billy Woods - Golliwog (CD) uitverkoop Nederlands/World B4 Genius Of Love 2001Taking stock of the best hip hop albums halfway through the decade, it's hard to resist Billy Woods gone. With Aethiopes and Maps (together with Kenny Segal) he has already released two modern classics in just a few years. Add GOLLIWOG but to that list: a slow motion horror film full of 'afro pessimism' for anyone who likes Maps too 'accessible'. Shabaka Hutchings, The Alchemist, El P, and more contribute to the nightmare sound.
